Ruth Kushel

Canteen Manager



In the late seventies, Ruth Kushel joined her husband Bernie as the canteen managers, and they would become a known at camp as Tyler Hill Camp's senior couple, well into the 1990s. The Kushels had other members of their family who were at camp for many years. Their son-in-law, Gary Kasten, together with Alan Arbuse, handled the canoe trips on the Delaware for more than twenty years. The Kushel's grandchildren were campers at Tyler Hill Camp for a long time as well.

Bernie and Ruth were a likeable couple who, in addition to flipping a good burger, remained a part of the Tyler Hill Camp culture for more than thirty years
