Brenda Tinges

Counselor, Group Leader, Assist. Head Counselor

One of Sy Sundick's greatest staff members, Brenda began as a counselor in 1970 and was a Color War General in 1972 with Roy Greenman, for the White South.

She became a Group Leader and enjoyed a great deal of popularity with her kids, who loved and respected her. She was also loved by Sy, as well as her peers. As the Assistant Head Counselor, Brenda added tremendous value to the programming that Sy already had in place.

Her loyalty was as strong as her love for THC. She worked all the way through her last summer, in 1981, in spite of her terrible illness. She died in 1982, from breast cancer and Bill planted a tree in her memory next to the canteen. That Red Maple stands taller than the canteen now, and it is a reminder of what a giant she was to her generation at THC.
