Bette Jane WeisenthalSub-Senior Group Leader, Theater Director, Girls' Head Counselor, Associate Director of Girls CampBette Jane Weisenthal arrived in 1979 and was an instant hit at Tyler Hill Camp, on several fronts. While her obvious charms may have caught the attention of the Boys' side, it was her remarkable work ethic that enabled Bette to immediately become a key figure in Sy Sundick's program on the Girls' side, as well as becoming part of the Tyler Hill Camp family. Over the years and decades, she has enjoyed enormous popularity on the Girls' side, as a terrific Group Leader and as a camp character. Her preparation for the annual group-sing competition was legendary, as she often went to great lengths to give her beloved "Subbies" every possible advantage. In the early eighties, Bette began to provide a counterpart to Artie Sunshine's "Cisco Kid" by appearing regularly as "Wonder Woman." She and several of her fellow counselors would occasionally perform their ridiculous "Synchronized Swimmers on Dry Land" routine in front of the Girls' HCO.
